Rocky Mountain High. A Diamond in the Ruff

Hi! I'm Rocky and I want to tell you a little about myself. I was born Dec.20, 2001 and lived in a kennel my whole life with my brothers and sisters. Our owner was a breeder of English Setters and choosy on who he felt was worthy of his keeping. I wasn't it. Why? you ask. I don't hunt. In fact, I rather lay around the house with my family and get all the lov'n they want to hand out. For me, that sounds much better than running some fields for birds and getting full of burrs and ticks. Don't you agree? For what it's worth, I am a purebred with papers. I'm what the standard refers to as Liver and White. Not to be confused with Lemon and White. I'm more reddish/chocolate. I'm tall, but thin and will need your good cook'n to fatten me up about 5 lbs. Although my name may imply that I'm strong and solid (like a rock), in fact, I'm the opposite, right now at least. I'm a Diamond in the Ruff. I'm a little timid and need my self-confidence built up. I know I'm a good boy and handsome, can't forget handsome, but I just need to be told how special I really am. I bet you can turn me around. How 'bout it, will you be the one to make me believe in myself?

Now, be honest. Aren't I just the most handsome Setter boy you've ever seen.
I NEVER want to live like this ever again.

This is all I want. To be included in the insert picture with my family. Will you add me to your family picture? Please.

This is the way my life should be. Only you can make it happen forever. Please adopt me.

ROCKY'S JOURNAL
Today is March 30th, and I just came to my temporary foster home from another temporary foster home. I got to check out the yard this morning with a family of 4 English Setter girls. They're not bad. They don't seem to mind that I'm here and maybe in a couple days, when I'm more at ease, I'll even show them I can play. In the mean time, I'll just keep check'n things out.

From my other foster mom, this was what she said about me. I was at her house for a few weeks before I moved.
"I crate him when I'm gone just as a safety measure.....I also feed him in the crate, he's still a little underweight and I want to make sure he eats ALL of his food. Rocky is the kindest most gentle boy...and gets along great with other dogs. I feel 100% confident with him loose in the house. Most of the time he's a couch potato....he's not a barker......if he hears a "bump in the nite" he will bark a few times because he's startled. He's 100% housebroken. When I'm on the computer he likes to lay his head on my lap. Noises do startle him....I guess he just needs HIS safe place.....a bed, a place on the couch .....wherever....HIS PLACE. Rocky is a gentle sweet soul that didnt have a life until now, he still needs a little work with confidence, but there is no aggression and he is not destructive......he's a little scared of SMALL kids but older children are fine......I have never seen him mark in the house. We are working on nite time and not trying to get on the bed, he likes to sneak up, he has stayed off and slept on the floor by the bed the last couple nights. I dont crate him at nite because he will cry.....not bark....but cry, kinda howl he doesnt like to be alone......he lived his whole life with his kennel mate and his pack and he was very loneley at first. I think he still might miss them...........especialy his mother. Rocky in MY opinion is one of the most beautiful setters I've ever seen."
